AFCF: The Difference Makers Raise $565 for Cecily's Fund

On February 8th 2021 a group of 63 amazing students from three New York City high schools were recognized for their commitment to the community and global causes, at the fifth Annual Difference Makers Awards Ceremony.  The Difference Makers program is led by Professor Bill Reisel of St John's University, NY, and this year benefitted four not-for-profits including American Friends of Cecily's Fund.  It is a program which enables high school students to contribute to the world around them, through creating awareness and raising funds for not-for-profits, which Professor Reisel, a Board Director at AFCF, believes is important for college preparedness and future citizenship. The Difference Makers raised $565 for Cecily's Fund and gave a heartwarming presentation about Zambia and our programs there, demonstrating an understanding and empathy beyond their years, for the plight of their peers in one of the poorest countries in the world. Congratulations to the Difference Makers and to Professor Reisel for this wonderful achievement!
