Basil Eastwood Talk: We Need to Talk About Islamism
With a collection for Cecily's Fund
“Most Muslims are not Islamists. Most Islamists reject the use of violence. There are major differences amongst those that do not. We must understand these distinctions and talk to those prepared to talk to us.”
Our co-founder Basil Eastwood recently gave the talk "We Need to Talk About Islamism" as a part of the Charlbury Festival. Because this was very much oversubscribed, Basil will deliver the talk again at the Friends Meeting House in Charlbury (OX7 3PH) on Wednesday July 3rd. This version will include additional material on Iran.
Basil is a former British Ambassador to Syria (1996 - 2000), studied Arabic and Turkish at Oxford, and spent much of his career in the Middle East.
The event is at 7:30pm and admission is free - there will be a collection in aid of Cecily's Fund.
