Cecily's Fund has been working to support orphans and vulnerable children in some of Zambia's poorest communities for over 20 years. In that time, we've grown to become one of the most experienced and trusted providers of educational support, helping to break the cycle of poverty.

Our impact

Access to Education

We supported 900 vulnerable girls in Chingola to progress into secondary school

We helped to pay the school fees for a total of 2,997 children in Lusaka, Kitwe and Chingola

We focused on girls, providing Girls' Circles which provide a space for them to develop and learn

Peer Health Education

We trained over 30 school leavers to deliver life-saving health information sessions in schools

We lobbied District Education Boards to allow Peer Educators to act as teaching assistants

We strengthened our Peer Educator training to include gender awareness

Connecting Communities

We supported five savings groups, empowering community members to save for school fees

We expanded the activities provided by Sunshine Clubs, including music and sport

We helped provide business skills, so people have a better chance of earning an income of their own

Reducing HIV by Keeping Girls in School

We supported 900 vulnerable girls to stay in school, where their HIV risk is much reduced

We helped communities to understand their basic rights and the importance of education

We helped mothers and their daughters learn the skills they need to boost their income
